Dear friends,

Once again, I want to express my deep gratitude for all those who have offered a pledge for 2026. Such commitments make it immeasurably easier for the finance committee to formulate a budget for the coming year, to anticipate how money will be allocated to make sure we can sustain our worshiping community.

If you have not made a pledge, I invite you to consider what your lives (and our collective life) would be without the support of a church like St. Andrew’s. What we bring, both to the lives of those who worship with us and our partners in the community, is something incalculable: a community of believers that offer themselves to the difficult work of making real the presence of Jesus in an uncertain world. While we cannot place a value on that work, we can give what we can to support it. I     encourage you to do so, because we cannot count on others to shoulder that burden.

I am deeply aware of the current suffering represented by government shutdown and the hard choices it is forcing on many of us. The work of the church is sacred and, as with the baptism, confirmations and receptions we are witnessing, I hope we can all commit ourselves to it.
