BISHOP MARIANN EXTENDS SUSPENSION OF PUBLIC WORSHIP UNTIL MAY 16
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
In the presence of anxiety, fear, and threat, please know that you are all in my prayers, as are those serving as first responders and those who are fighting the coronavirus. And as a parish family, we continue to be one even without our Sunday worship and want to provide resources to help keep us connected during this time of national emergency.
We now have an update regarding church closure from our Bishop that announces an extension of the church closures until May 16, which follows the recommendation of the CDC. She reports that if the CDC lifts the recommendations, she will re-open the churches earlier.
We remain, nonetheless, called to deliver the gospel of Jesus Christ with grace and hope through prayer, sermons, shepherding those who need support, resources on the Web Site and to use whatever media possible to deepen our spiritual journeys during this difficult time. The implications of this extension are now under consideration. As soon as the Bishop with her clergy have some guidelines that might answer questions, I will let you all know.
All this is to say: We love our parish community and pray for health and a halt to the spread of the coronavirus. Please support self-safety and safety for the common good by practicing the recommendations made by the CDC.
May the peace of God, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God, and of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord; and the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be upon you, and remain with you always.
